I go through life with a beautiful baby on my hip. People light up when they see her. They overflow with questions.
How is this new human doing? How is she growing and transforming?
I feel invisible during these interactions. I field questions about the baby, her wants and needs.
Every now and then someone will look at me and ask, “And how are you?”
What they mean is: You are a new human, too. How are you, new human? How are you growing and transforming?
For a moment I am seen.
I am very well, thank you. I am being birthed into motherhood and grown in miraculous ways.
I cherish this new identify. It is a powerful one. I co-created, carried, and brought into being a new life. I now sustain her and am her joy. I love being her mother.
I am also more than her mother.
I will not be defined nor limited by this one identity. My creative power goes far beyond creating human life.
I am an individual and a dreamer and a seeker and a thinker. I am a writer and an artist and a yogi and a friend.
I am a speaker and a coach and a connector and a teacher. I am an entrepreneur. I am a leader. I am a visionary.
As I grow as a mother, I am transforming as a human being. I am learning about the essence of life: about dreaming, letting go, being led, and awakening.
I am called to work with people and groups as they discover and cultivate joy.
I am a new human. I am growing and transforming.
I am excited for all that is to come!
