writer, speaker, coach
A native new Yorker, I am based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I started Invitation to Joy after giving birth to my daughter and realizing that I wanted to create my own work, with my own goals and schedule. I am now writing, coaching, and connecting with other women, locally and online.

My professional background:
I bring twenty years of experience in public speaking, mentoring, group development and community-building to my new work. I spent the last decade founding language-learning programs, international service trips and group counseling programs at two start-up schools in New York City. I co-authored two bestselling Spanish language programs (print and digital) with Wayside Publishing, and designed and led professional development as a World Languages consultant for Asia Society's International Studies Schools Network. I am trained in restorative practices for building trust and facilitating dialogue, respectful discipline practices for children and teens, contemplative leadership, and mindfulness practices. I co-facilitated faith formation programs for adults and teens in the greater New York City area. I worked in public outreach and development for my alma mater, the College of William and Mary, where I hold degrees in Hispanic Studies, Sociology, and a Master's in Education. I am fluent in Spanish and served as a Rotary Cultural Ambassadorial Scholar in Arequipa, Peru.
